InfernoEnergy was engaged by York Realty Inc. and Amazon to help power Amazon’s multi-level distribution facility in Victoria, BC. With the rooftop dedicated to parking, our team looked to the large south-facing wall as an opportunity for solar innovation. Wall-mounted panels require an extra level of engineering, and in this case, the array was intentionally tapered to blend seamlessly with the vibrant mural on the building’s façade. The result is a striking fusion of clean energy, architectural creativity, and forward-thinking design.

We are proud to have completed this project with The Little Potato Company. They are an Edmonton success story, and this solar project for their new facility was our largest project to date with plenty of technical challenges to overcome, including connecting a generator of this size to the grid. This is the 5th largest rooftop solar project in Western Canada, and the 2nd largest privately funded solar project in Western Canada!

During this project, our team successfully completed a major electrical upgrade over a single weekend, ensuring the client’s operations continued without interruption and avoiding tens of thousands in lost revenue. We also identified a creative solution to a structural challenge – by removing excess gravel from the roof, we reduced the load enough to install without the need for costly reinforcements. Another great example of how Inferno solves complex problems with efficiency and innovation.
